ABOUT KIRA PETERSONS
Kira Petersons is a 24-year-old aspiring designer currently living in New York City. Growing up in Kansas City, Kira has always had a wild and statement-driven fashion sense, one that coined her the nickname "glitter girl" from a young age. Kira studied fashion at Oklahoma State University and moved to NYC in 2018 (without a job) the week after graduation to pursue a career in apparel design. For the past 2 years, Kira has worked as an Assistant Designer for a Nordstrom's dress brand in Manhattan's Garment District. During quarantine, Kira rediscovered her love for sewing and pattern making, and started hand-making dresses with matching face masks for her friends and family. Kira also started making her own glittery face masks when she couldn't find any fabulous masks on the market - thus House of Blythe was born. "Blythe" being her Gram Gram and Pop Pop's last name and her middle name, meaning "happy" and "free spirited". Her true passion is apparel design and hopes to quickly expand the brand into apparel that makes people feel seen and beautiful, but says "The world needs face masks right now, so let's give them fabulous ones!". When not putting her efforts towards House of Blythe, Kira can be found prancing around Manhattan in her hot pink cowgirl boots or brunching with friends (pre-covid of course).
